What do our School Councillors and Eco-Champions do?
A School Council is a group of dedicated students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school. They are also our school eco-champions are therefore responsible for highlighting environmental issues and initiatives raised by their peers, both in school and in the wider community.
Our School Council/Eco-Champions meet on a regular basis to discuss and resolve problems. These may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events or our school environment.
What jobs are there?
In our school council, there are three main job titles – a chair, a secretary and a treasurer. The person who takes on these job roles changes on a regular basis so that everyone in the council can experience leadership.

These are some things that make our School Council and Eco Champions effective:
The School Council and Eco Champions will regularly update pupils in school including contributing to school newsletter with their initiatives and achievements.
What do our subject champions do?
At our school, we are also proud to have a team of enthusiastic and passionate Subject Champions. These pupils work closely with our teacher subject leads to celebrate and promote learning across the curriculum. They help to create subject overviews by sharing their own views and gathering feedback from their peers (taking the time to see how their chosen subject is taught in other key stages) and therefore ensuring that pupil voice is at the heart of our school’s development. Subject Champions also play an active role in contributing to displays, clubs, and even leading assemblies to showcase what makes their subject special. Their committment, leadership, and creativity make them a real asset to our school community.
